Una Voce Northern Alabama is sponsoring a one-day workshop on the Traditional Latin Mass at Blessed Sacrament on Saturday, July 7. The event starts at 9:00am with Sung High Mass in the Extraordinary Form, featuring polyphonic arrangements by Palestrina. Fr. Brian Austin of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter will also give a presentation on “The Liturgical Reform of Pope Benedict XVI.” All are invited to attend and lunch will be provided. Bio of Fr. Austin
A native of Miami, Fr. Austin first attended Vanderbilt University as a National Merit Scholar, but left in order to read the Great Books at St. John’s College in Annapolis, MD. After teaching for three years, he entered Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary in Nebraska, where he studied for seven years. Since his ordination to the priesthood for the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter in 2009, he has been assistant chaplain at Christ the King Catholic Church in Sarasota, Florida. In his spare time, Father enjoys reading works of theology and liturgical history.
